US Army continues efforts to improve detection at fraction of cost

The U.S. Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center is currently researching alternative technologies to better test suspicious powders to determine if they are a chemical or biological agent. A key technology they are studying, adenosine triphosphate (ATO)-based technology, allows for high specificity, fewer false positives and significant long-term cost savings to first responders and the Warfighter.

Andrew Johnston submits explosive detection abstract for ISADE 2013

ISADE (International Symposium on the Analysis and Detection of Explosives) has received an abstract from Falcon Communications based on the explosive detector standards work and PhD that they sponsor. The symposium is held every three years and in 2013 it is organised by three Dutch organisations engaged with research and development on explosives: the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI), the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security (NCTV).
