Immersive Technology Training for High-Consequence Radiological and Nuclear Material Response
Workshop attendees will have the opportunity to visit the Oak Ridge Enhanced Technology and Training Campus (ORETTC)—part of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Y-12 National Security Complex located just outside of Knoxville in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. ORETTC aims to be the global leader in nuclear innovation, rapid prototyping, and workforce development for global security, nuclear deterrence, and defense programs enabling the United States dominance in nuclear energy and national security.
CBRNe ‘High Threat’ Exercise IV
A workshop to provide attendees with the necessary knowledge and understanding, to consider multiple options at suspected CBRNE incident / investigation. How do you balance those investigative, forensic or digital strategies to the backdrop of community tensions? Have you the access and trust of partner agencies with open dialogue to ensure clarity of role? Key aspects for a prompt and effective investigation will be explored highlighting fast track reactive actions and/or the potential for proactive intelligence gathering. The event will be a mix of background delivery and plenary sessions to share experiences, identify organisational learning and effective practice. We must strive for collective education, innovation and the sheer will to deter, disrupt and detect terrorist activity allowing the public to go about their daily lives freely and with confidence.
Treatment by Toxidrome - Scenario-Driven Response Training for Multi-Agency CBRNe Response
This immersive, hands-on workshop, led by expert instructors from the Disaster Medicine Institute (DMI), places participants at the center of realistic CBRNe incident scenarios, challenging them to think, decide, and act as first responders in high-pressure situations. Through structured role-play exercises, attendees will navigate the complexities of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear events, from initial detection and scene assessment through coordinated multi-agency response and casualty management.
