Skyler Sallick is a Master of Arts candidate in Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies, specializing in Threat Intelligence, at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. She also serves as a Graduate Research Assistant, supporting faculty research on state-linked cybercriminal groups, with an independent focus on cyber threats to critical infrastructure and operational technology vulnerabilities.
Prior to graduate school, Skyler spent four years on the Internet Freedom & Resilience team at Internews, an international NGO focused on freedom of expression and access to trustworthy information worldwide. At Internews, she co-authored country and regional-level digital threat landscape analyses and delivered internet-shutdown response and digital security programming for journalists and civil society in restrictive information environments. Her work includes “The Price of Disruption,” an econometric analysis of the cascading economic impacts of Senegal's 2023 internet shutdowns, and an internationally presented guide on sustaining open-source digital security tools. Skyler holds a B.A. in International Relations from Claremont McKenna College, where she was awarded Phi Beta Kappa and Best Thesis in International Relations.
