Mr. Bill Reding currently serves with the Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST), as a Radiological Assistance Program (RAP) Regional Program Manager in the Office of Nuclear Incident Response, Counterterrorism and Counterproliferation, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  In this capacity, he coordinates, collaborates, and supports leaders in DOE/NNSA and Local, State, and Federal partners.  He maintains the staffing, training, equipping, and exercising for two Radiological Assistance Program Teams; supporting: countering weapons of mass destruction, regional radiological incident/accident response, and regional outreach and training; provides operationally-ready NEST assets set to deploy 24/7 within two hours anywhere within the region.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Reding served as the United States Army, Geospatial Information & Services (GI&S) Officer; responsible for establishing/coordinating Army-wide GI&S regulations, training, and policy; served as staff officer in the Army G2 and member of various Army and Intelligence Community (IC) boards and working groups, coordinating directly with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) primarily.

Mr. Reding joined NNSA in 2021 as the RAP-2 Regional Program Manager, responsible for covering nuclear and radiological response in: Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia; as well as, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  Prior to joining DOE, Mr. Reding retired from the United States Army as a Lieutenant Colonel with 28 years of service, including three combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan.
