Matthew Scullion is a leader in the biodefense and diagnostic industry with more than 25 years of experience at BioFire Defense and its predecessor organizations. With a background in biology and molecular diagnostics, he has focused his career on developing and deploying diagnostic solutions for national security and public health preparedness.

Mr. Scullion has worked extensively with the U.S. Department of Defense, federal agencies, international partners, and first responders. His experience includes supporting the response to the 2001 anthrax attacks, training military personnel and first responders in bio detection technologies, and leading diagnostic response efforts during the Ebola outbreak and COVID-19 pandemic.

As Vice President of Business Development for BioFire Defense, Mr. Scullion leads product development and Government programs initiatives focused on advancing diagnostic capabilities for biodefense and public health preparedness. He has guided the development and regulatory clearance of multiple diagnostic panels and contributed to major U.S. and international biodefense and pandemic preparedness initiatives.
