Mistaking bomb for ball

In a disturbing incident, two minor boys were seriously injured after a suspected explosive device went off while they were playing in a village under the Kabisuryanagar police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district. According to preliminary reports, the boys noticed an unidentified object lying in the courtyard and mistook it for a ball. Unaware of the potential danger, they began playing with it, which suddenly triggered a powerful explosion. Both minors sustained critical injuries in the blast. Police are investigating the origin of the explosive device and the circumstances under which it was kept there.
