Industrial explosion kills two
Two workers were killed and several others injured after two explosions tore through an industrial recycling facility in Toledo, Ohio, on August 18th. The explosions sparked a massive fire and sent black smoke billowing across the local area. A statement by Toledo Fire Chief Allison Armstrong, said the blast ruptured chemical tanks, which toppled over. Another reporting source stated one of the first firefighters on scene radioed that the rear of the property was "full of chemicals that will ignite and explode violently," according to a dispatch recording. Hazmat crews were subsequently summoned to the scene. Investigators are still working to figure out what exactly caused the explosion.
