Three injured in chemical plant blast

An explosion at a facility operated by specialty chemicals manufacturer Synthesia has injured three workers, two of the injured are reported to be in life-threatening conditions.

Synthesia issued a statement on it's website saying an “operational accident” occurred during maintenance work which resulted in injuries to three contract workers. The incident was immediately resolved and no significant damage to the plant or any technology occurred, the company said.

They added that there was no leakage of harmful substances or any risk to the surrounding area. An investigation into the causes of the incident is underway with the participation of the Czech Police.
