Pesticide deaths

In mid-November, a German family of four visiting Istanbul became suddenly unwell and died. The initial suspicion was due to food poisoning, but upon autopsy it was discovered that was not to be the case and was later confirmed they died due to chemical poisoning. Prosecutors later revealed that a forensic report found the cause of death for the family was an insecticide used for pest control in the family's hotel, although they did not say which type. Six people who were arrested during the investigation, including the hotel owner and the owner of the pest control company, remain in custody.
