A man was recently charged after his home north of Claremont exploded on April 1, according to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. Travis Kyle Bowes is charged with Felony Manufacturing Weapons of Mass Destruction and Felony Possession of Weapons of Mass Destruction, both in connection with an incendiary device. Officials confirm that a couple was taken to the hospital, one of whom has severe injuries. Their 14-year-old daughter escaped the home. The case is ongoing.
