Explosives factory blast

16 killed in Tennessee explosives factory blast.  On October 10, 2025, an explosion occurred at Accurate Energetic Systems in the Bucksnort area of Hickman County. This privately owned industrial facility processes, not manufactures, ammunition and explosives for various clients. The incident prompted an immediate response from local emergency services.

At the request of the Hickman and Humphreys emergency management agencies, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has deployed District Coordinators and is continuing to coordinate with local officials to fulfill any requests. TEMA is actively monitoring the situation and remains in communication with local, state, and federal partners.

US law enforcement officials have identified the 16 people who were killed, the names were released during a news briefing on Monday outside Accurate Energetic Systems (AES).

The cause of the blast is still unclear. Agents from the national Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are investigating.

Authorities said the individuals were presumed dead, and the release of their names did not mean their remains had been identified. That process is ongoing.
