Food contamination kills four

Four pupils at a Qur’anic school in Kano, Nigeria, died on August 16th after consuming food suspected to have been contaminated. According to one report, one of the students brought the fish out and shared it with four others, after finding it beneath a chair during his cleaning duties. Initially they began eating the fish together but that one of the students stopped after tasting it because he noticed that it did not taste right. Another friend also declined to eat the fish because he suspected that it was unsafe. Shortly after the students ate, four of them became unconscious and fell seriously ill. The Kano State Police Command confirmed the incident, saying an investigation was underway to establish the cause of the deaths.
