Four new micro-credentials launching in November will provide healthcare professionals and first responders with flexible, industry-informed education in CBRNE preparedness and response.
The George Washington University College of Professional Studies (CPS) and First Line Technology today announced a new partnership to develop a series of professional-focused micro-credentials in chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) preparedness and response.
The collaboration brings together the university’s expertise in developing high-quality, career-focused education for working professionals with First Line Technology’s more than two decades of experience equipping and training organizations around the world that face complex CBRNE and emergency-response challenges.
The first four micro-credentials developed through the partnership are scheduled to launch in November 2026 through GW RevU, the College of Professional Studies’ workforce education platform. Designed initially for first responder, emergency management, healthcare and industrial professionals the programs will provide accessible, flexible learning focused on building the knowledge and capabilities needed to prepare for and respond to CBRNE incidents and other complex hazards.
As organizations across healthcare, public safety, emergency management and other critical sectors face increasingly complex preparedness and response challenges, the partnership is designed to help close important knowledge and skills gaps by connecting practitioners with education grounded in both academic quality and real-world experience.
“Preparing professionals to respond to increasingly complex CBRNE challenges requires education that is current, practical and deeply connected to the realities of the field,” said Dr. Liesl Riddle, Dean of the George Washington University College of Professional Studies. “At CPS, our mission is to work alongside industry to create educational content that gives professionals the knowledge and skills they need to address emerging challenges with confidence.
“Our partnership with First Line Technology brings together GW’s expertise in developing high-quality, career-focused education with First Line’s decades of operational experience in CBRNE preparedness, response and training. Through GW RevU, we are transforming that expertise into flexible, accessible micro-credentials designed for working professionals in the industries and organizations where CBRNE readiness matters most. We are excited about the opportunity to build a portfolio of programs that strengthens individual capabilities while helping organizations develop more prepared, resilient and capable team members.”
For more than two decades, First Line Technology has worked with the U.S. military, first responders, emergency managers, healthcare organizations, industrial companies and other professionals operating in challenging environments, providing mission-ready technologies, decontamination solutions and training.
“For more than two decades, organizations facing the most complex chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive challenges have turned to First Line Technology for trusted expertise, practical solutions, and field-proven training,” said Amit Kapoor, President and CEO of First Line Technology. “We’re proud to partner with George Washington University and RevU because we share a commitment to advancing preparedness through high-quality education. This collaboration expands access to critical CBRNE knowledge and represents the beginning of what we believe will be a long and impactful relationship focused on equipping professionals with the skills and confidence needed to preserve lives and prevent harm.”
Translating Industry Expertise Into Workforce Educational Excellence
The new CBRNE micro-credentials reflect a shared commitment by GW and First Line Technology to make specialized education more accessible to professionals who need to apply it in high-stakes, real-world environments.
The programs will combine First Line Technology’s field experience and CBRNE subject-matter expertise with GW’s expertise in CBRNE education and professional learning design. Delivered through GW RevU, the micro-credentials are being developed specifically with the needs of working professionals learners in mind.
The November launch represents the first phase of the partnership, with the potential to expand the portfolio to address additional CBRNE workforce needs and serve professionals across industries and organizations where preparedness, resilience and effective emergency response are critical.
