Zoe Rutherford
Zoe worked for the NHS in London for 16 years, 12 of which were spent in a mortuary setting working up from Trainee Anatomical Pathology Technologist to Mortuary Manager. She developed a love for all things CBRN when she began assisting with post mortem examinations on Individual Chemical Exposure (ICE) cases in 2009. The cases were primarily suicides involving Hydrogen Cyanide and Hydrogen Sulphide with the odd ‘unknown chemical’ thrown in to keep her on her toes. She spent a lot of time working with the Metropolitan Police Dedicated CBRN Unit and HART on these cases and this made for a great educational experience and enhanced her interest in not only the chemicals she was dealing with but also the different types of PPE available, types of DIM equipment and how they worked etc. In 2017 she joined the CBRNe World team as the Marketing & Communications Manager where she could continue indulge her passion for all things CBRNe.
