# No inspection permitted

 Written on 23 June 2026.

Iran recently stated that it has no plans to allow the IAEA to inspect nuclear sites bombed by the US in 2025, despite claims by JD Vance they had agreed to invite they agency. Trump has repeatedly claimed the sites bombed were ‘obliterated’, but the truth is the extent of the damage is unknown. There are potential chemical and radiation risks from the sites bombed, but as no one outside Iran will be allowed to inspect them, combined with Iran’s practice of keeping tight lipped, we may not know if the sites pose a risk for some time.
