#  Pyrolysis fire

On August 25th, news stories broke about a pyrolysis fire at an under-construction gas chemical complex in Russia’s far east. At the time of initial reporting, it was suggested that around 120 people had been injured, 19 were hospitalised and one was dead. The facility said work was ‌continuing at the site to extinguish the blaze and specialists ‌were carrying out a controlled burn ⁠of the remaining ‌industrial gases. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are being investigated.
