# Reactor explosion

 Written on 22 August 2026.

A chemical reactor explosion at a pharma company has killed two workers and injured at least nine others and triggered a huge fire. According to reports fire fighters had a difficult task getting the blaze under control. Initial investigations suggest that mixing of different chemicals led to the explosion. Local police have registered a case and launched a formal investigation. This is apparently the second accident at the same factory in the past two months. The Telangana Pollution Control Board has shuttered the facility citing non-compliance, environmental violations and the fatal accident. During an inspection after the incident they found structural damage, chemical spillages, contaminated wastewater runoff and unresolved odour complaints.
