# Poisonous booze

 Written on 04 March 2025.

After a party with alcohol and dog meat, nine people in Tuyen Quang Province, northern Vietnam were hospitalised for chemical poisoning. According to the Tuyen Quang Department of Health, a party had been organised by a local family with 15 tables for around 80 people, serving dog meat, noodles, and alcohol.

By 7:00 pm, nine people who drank alcohol from a plastic bottle started showing symptoms of sore throat, headache, nausea, and dizziness. The plastic bottle had previously contained Eco Farm Star disinfectant solution, a potent disinfectant used for sterilizing livestock barns. Upon receiving the patients, doctors diagnosed them with corrosive substance poisoning and immediately performed gastric lavage.
