# White powder letter

 Written on 02 August 2025.

In one of many cases we have seen lately, a white powder letter was recently sent to the New York Attorney General’s Office. The Albany Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, or FBI, has announced the indictment of a man who allegedly mailed a letter containing what was believed to be a biological weapon to the New York Attorney General’s Office.

United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III and Special Agent Craig L. Tremaroli announced that Henry Gracia, 63, of Vero Beach, Florida, allegedly sent a letter containing a suspicious white powder to the Attorney General’s Office in Albany in February of last year.

The powder was not hazardous, but intended to appear as a biological weapon to threaten Attorney General Letitia James.

The charge filed against Garcia carries a maximum term of five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
