# THC extraction explosion

 Written on 28 August 2026.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is working in conjunction with ATF on the investigation into a deadly explosion killed two people on August 28th. Investigators have said the explosion was chemical-related and occurred during the THC extraction process at a legal extraction facility, which sits in a business complex. The explosion was large enough to damage at least 25 local businesses. A spokesman for the Tulsa County district attorney’s office said prosecutors believe the employees were unlawfully manufacturing hazardous chemicals that wound up creating an explosion. The owner of the business turned himself after being charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
