# Liquor theft explosion

 Written on 08 June 2025.

A Pittsburgh man is facing multiple charges after allegedly attempting to steal alcohol from Rivers Casino and detonating a commercial-grade firework inside a restroom, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Jeremy Allen Hartman has been charged with Risking a Catastrophe, Arson, Theft, Criminal Mischief, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Receiving Stolen Property.

Officials say he was allegedly trying to steal bottles of alcohol valued at up to $4,000. As security escorted him to a secure holding area, Hartman requested to use the restroom. He was granted access to an employee restroom, where police say he lit a commercial-grade firework and placed it inside a toilet, causing an explosion.

A casino employee who was in the restroom at the time sustained minor injuries and was treated and released by medical staff.
