#  Clouds rolling in

Dstl is looking to broaden access to its supply base, reducing the cost of trading with Dstl and making an easier contract process, using a system called R-Cloud (Research Cloud).

R-Cloud will provide easy-to-use, direct access to current and future research requirements. It’s expected to be rolled out across all of Dstl’s capability areas, with a pilot in June focussed on Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear capabilities (CBRN).Suppliers working in the area of CBRN can apply to be part of the pilot via the Defence Contracts Online (DCO) pre-qualification [portal](https://cbrneworld.com/%5C%22www.contracts.mod.uk) from 5 June until 11 July 2014. This site has the overarching statement of requirement summarising the broad CBRN research categories where support is likely to be required, and provides a list of associated capabilities. Suppliers will need to register with the DCO portal and provide pre-qualification evidence. If successful, they will then be granted access to the R-Cloud CBRN pilot. Mini-competitions will be run with the suppliers, who will be invited to tender for different tasks.
