This new, handheld material identification system has been designed for police, hazmat teams, bomb technicians, and military personnel. At the push of a button, the Mira DS identifies illicit substances and explosives.

Cherokee Nation Technology Solutions (CNTS) has announced the recent award of a $21 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research’s Viral Disease Branch. Under the contract CNTS will provide scientific and technical support for infectious disease research during the next five years.

The Viral Disease Branch conducts infectious disease research, with an emphasis on viral disease threats such as dengue, Zika, influenza, adenovirus and other infections that pose a potential risk to service men and women.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has announced the appointment of Tony Russell as the new Superintendent of the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP). Russell replaces Mike King, who the Agency announced will be moving to FEMA’s Field Operations Directorate.

Environics has received a new purchase order for CBRN reconnaissance vehicle from Indonesian Ministry of Defence. Environics has already delivered three similar CBRN reconnaissance vehicles to the Indonesian Ministry of Defence between 2015-2017. The fourth vehicle delivery will take place in 2018. Vehicles includes equipment for detecting, identifying and sampling CBRN agents in a safe, protected working environment.
