The German Armed Forces have awarded a contract for 1,000 Zodiak-12 type NBC protective suits to the Austrian company J. Blaschke Wehrtechnik GmbH following a tender process . The contract is designed as a multi-year procurement project and will run until 2030. Delivery of the protective suits will take place in stages within this period.

The two-piece protective suit is designed for use in contaminated environments and protects emergency personnel from nuclear, biological, and chemical hazards. The jacket and trousers are gas-tightly connected. The suit is compatible with the NBC protective mask used by the German Armed Forces, allowing the wearer to remove the suit without having to take off the mask.

Made from rubber-coated fabric, the system offers a protection time of over 24 hours against chemical warfare agents such as mustard gas, lewisite or VX and is designed for military CBRN scenarios.
