Col. Michael Lutz
Col. Michael Lutz, acting COM CJ-CBRND-TF NRF 2023 and also the Head of Science Division at the Bundeswehr CBRN Defence, Safety and Environmental Protection School.
Col. Lutz began his career in the Bundeswehr in 1987 as a NBC defence officer. He became a Platoon Leader – Reconnaissance in 1989 and started his Study of Economics at the Bundeswehr University in Hamburg in 1990. After being a Platoon Leader – Reconnaissance with the 7 CBRN Defence Battalion he became a J3 Officer and J3 ENGR, HQ Engineer Brigade 30 in 1995. 1995-1998 saw him as a J3 and NBC Defence Officer, first in Homberg, then Fritzlar and finally in Hozter. He became Company Commander in 1998 and was Course Instructor NBC Officer Candidate Course, NBC Defence, Safetyand Environmental Protection School, Sonthofen until 2003. 2004 - 2006 he was Special Instructor for Tactics, Logistics and Environmental Protection, and was NBC Defence, Safety and Environmental Protection School until 2009. 2009 - 2013 he was Deputy Commander, 750 CBRN Defence Regiment and 2013 - 2015 he was Force Protection and CBRN Staff Officer. 2015 - 2019 he was Branch Head, first as International Cooperation and then Head Doctrine and Policy. 2019 - 2021 he was Desk Officer BWC / CWC, Department of Arms Control, and since 2021 he has been Head of Science Division.
