Philipp Bleek

Dr. Philipp C. Bleek is Associate Professor in the Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies Program, Coordinator of the Cyber Collaborative, and Fellow at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, al. at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. His research and teaching focuses on the causes, consequences, and amelioration of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear weapons proliferation to both states and non-state actors.
Dr. Bleek previously served as Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Defense Programs. He has held fellowship at Council on Foreign Relations, Harvard University’s Belfer Center, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and the Center for New American Security, among others. He has also served as an advisor to several political campaigns, a consultant to the U.S. government and non-governmental organizations, and regularly participates in Track 2 dialogues. He is a former Emergency Medical Technician (New Jersey).
He recently co-authored, with Cyrus Jabbari, “Acid reign of terror” in CBRNe World (May 2020) and Into the Green with Zak Kallenborn in April 2021. These and other publications are available at his faculty page.
