Detective Chief Inspector Noel Harris has almost thirty years law enforcement experience, the majority of his service has been as a detective officer investigating all serious crime including kidnap and homicide within South Wales. DCI Harris has been the senior investigating officer (SIO) for several high profile murder investigations.
He is currently a Counter Terrorism SIO within the Wales Extremism and Counter Terrorism Unit (WECTU), responsible for the investigation of terrorism offences utilising covert and overt assets. WECTU is part of the UK’s national CT network.
He is also the lead officer for Protect and Prepare within Wales, which is part of the UK protective security response to the threat from terrorism. This directs that law enforcement and partners conduct regular testing and exercise in preparation for a terrorist attack. It also ensures that the latest protective security advice is disseminated and implemented with sites of critical importance in line with intelligence led threat assessments.
