Susan Rowsell

Susan Rowsell is the Head of the Bio Threat Defence Section at Defence Research and Development Canada Suffield Research Centre.  She manages a team of scientists focused on developing solutions for the Canadian Armed Forces in the areas of biological detection, identification, diagnostics, and medical countermeasures.  She works closely with colleagues in the 4-eyes community, coordinating S&T in CBR Detection, Identification, and Monitoring (DIM) among defenceorganizations in Australia, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. 

With a Bachelor’sdegree in Cellular, Molecular, and Microbial Biology, and Master’s degrees in Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering, Ms. Rowsell has expertise in several facets relevant to environmental microbiology and its application to the biological defence problem space.
