###### 28 September 2026 | [Nitazene Workshop](https://cbrneworld.com/index.php?option=com_tags&view=tag&id%5B0%5D=113:nitazene-workshop)

Rebecca Wood, MSc, DipRCPath, is a Clinical Scientist working in toxicology across both clinical and post-mortem settings. Since beginning her career in toxicology in September 2023, she has been involved in the detection and interpretation of drugs and toxins in biological samples to support both patient care and coronial investigations.

Her professional interests include emerging and novel psychoactive substances, particularly novel synthetic opioids and the challenges they present for toxicology laboratories. As the illicit drug landscape continues to evolve, she is especially interested in understanding how new substances appear in casework and how analytical findings can contribute to improved awareness of emerging drug trends and drug-related harm.

In October 2024, Rebecca co-founded and began co-hosting The Tox Lab podcast, a platform dedicated to toxicology, emerging drug trends, and real-world case discussions. Through the podcast, she aims to make toxicology more accessible and to highlight the important role the field plays in clinical practice, forensic investigation, and public health.
