Chief Warrant Officer 5 James W. Domorod Jr is the Branch Head, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Branch, Ground Combat Element Division, Capabilities Development Directorate, Deputy Commandant Combat Development &amp; Integration, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1997 as an aircraft rescue firefighting specialist. His enlisted assignments were with Marine Corps Air Facility Quantico, VA; Marine Wing Support Squadron-171, Iwakuni Japan; Department of Defense Joint Fire Protection Academy, Marine Detachment Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas; and Chemical Biological Incident Response Force, Indian Head, MD. He was appointed to warrant officer in 2008 as a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense officer. As an officer, he has served with 2d Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Camp Lejeune, NC; Marine Corps Security Force Regiment, Norfolk, VA; 6th Marine Regiment, Camp Lejeune, NC; 3d Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan; III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan; and II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, NC.

He deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom with Marine Wing Support Squadron-171 in 2001 and twice with 2d Battalion 8th Marine Regiment in 2009 and 2011. He deployed with 6th Marine Regiment for Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response Africa in 2015. He commanded Headquarters Company, 6th Marine Regiment. Chief Warrant Officer 5 Domorod graduated from the Community College of the Air Force with an AAS in Fire Science in 2003 and an AAS in Instructor of Technology and Military Science in 2004. He graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with a BS in Fire Science Management in 2005. He graduated from the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Captains Career Course in 2015 and Command and Staff College in 2020. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two gold stars), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four gold stars), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Air and Space Achievement Medal. He also holds the distinction as U.S. Marine Corps Master Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense Qualification. He and his wife Sarah were wed in 1998 and have five children: Abigail; James, III; Joseph; John; and Elizabeth.
