Robert Lemire, Police Officer - Boston Police Department, Special Operations Division, Hazardous Materials Response Unit

Officer Robert Lemire serves as a Police Officer for the Boston Police, Special Operations Division, Hazardous Materials Response Unit (HMRU) and as a Chief Petty Officer, Intelligence Specialist in the United States Coast Guard Reserves.

Officer Lemire graduated from Worcester State University in 2010 with a BS degree in Criminal Justice. Ofc. Lemire has served as a police officer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 14 years and in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves for 10 years. Through both positions, Ofc. Lemire has completed several trainings including:

  • Hazardous Materials Technician
  • Advanced Forensic Investigations for Hazardous Environments
  • Clandestine Laboratory Safety
  • Digital Forensic Examiner
  • S. Coast Guard Intelligence Specialist School
  • S. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy
  • S. Coast Guard Leadership and Management School

Through his position with the Boston Police Department HMRU, Ofc. Lemire responds to all CBRN, WMD & TIC calls in the City of Boston. The mission of the HMRU is to ensure proper mitigation guidelines are followed, provide enforcement and prosecution for violations, liaise with local, state, and federal partners, and ensure the preservation of life and property.
